Providing independent assistance to victims of Saravan quake is a national duty
Following an earthquake measured 7.8 on the Richter scale in the cities of Saravan and Khash in Sistan and Balouchestan province, Maryam Rajavi, offered her condolences to the bereaved families of the victims of the quake and wished speedy recovery of the injured. She called on all Iranians in Sistan and Balouchestan province and neighboring areas to immediately make efforts to rescue the people who are under the rubble, evacuate the injured, and assist homeless people. She added, “Considering long delay by the mullahs’ regime in providing assistance and its antihuman attempt to present casualties and damages to be very low, an independent aid under current circumstances is very decisive.”
She pointed out, “ Non-resistant structure of urban and rural houses, as well as severe incompetency of aid providing system that has left our fellow citizens across Iran with no protection against repeated earthquakes are among ominous outcomes of the Velayat-e Faqih destructive policies that has spent most of the countries income and wealth on repression, assassination and nuclear weapon production.
According to initial reports, as a result of this earthquake that occurred in the afternoon of Tuesday, April 16, The city of Khash, the center of this unprecedented quake over past fifty years, was thoroughly destroyed, Yet, the mullahs’ regime Crisis Headquarters announced it has not received any reports on the casualties of this earthquake yet.
