The regime’s fear in face of freedom movements in the region
Maryam Rajavi described remarks of Khamenei, Supreme Leader of the clerical regime, in today’s Friday prayers sermon as indicative of the fear of the moribund and despised clerical regime from the freedom movement that is pervading the Middle East. She said Khamenei’s remarks were also a futile attempt to usurp the popular uprisings in the region and leading them towards fundamentalism and retrogression as well as exploiting them to the interests of the clerical regime.Maryam Rajavi described remarks of Khamenei, Supreme Leader of the clerical regime, in today’s Friday prayers sermon as indicative of the fear of the moribund and despised clerical regime from the freedom movement that is pervading the Middle East. She said Khamenei’s remarks were also a futile attempt to usurp the popular uprisings in the region and leading them towards fundamentalism and retrogression as well as exploiting them to the interests of the clerical regime.
Maryam Rajavi saide that in a an anxious defense regarding the impact of freedom movements in Egypt and Tunisia, Khamenei covered up suppression, repression, murder, plundering, poverty, and extreme inequality in Iran.
In his remarks, Khamenei claimed that popularity of the regime’s leaders is first rate, the living condition of the regime’s leaders is below an average Iranian, the regime’s record is so bright that if it will be viewed by other Muslims, they would seek to establish a similar system, its constitution is so advanced that the West would lose its appeal in comparison, its popular rule is as such that there have been freedom for criticism, opposition, and protest for the people throughout the past 32 years, all of the officials are elected, and even the supreme leader is elected and sacked by representatives of people.
She added,: The extent of lies used and distortion of the facts are futile attempts to save the evil clerical regime. This is while, the unabated executions whose number reaches 90 in the past month, are aimed to prevent the wave of popular discontent. The regime knows well that slightest let up in suppression and repression will lead to its overthrow over a night.
There is no doubt that a regime which has committed hundred times more crimes, plunder and other criminal acts than any other dictator, would not stand the explosive state of discontent in the society and the massive force of freedom seeking people of Iran. Neither in the Middle East nor anywhere in the world, there is no regime loathed by people more than the religious fascism ruling Iran. Hatred against the regime extends to Iraq, Afghanistan and other countries in the region who have fallen victim to the regime’s suppressive measures, export of terrorism and fundamentalism.
Khamenei deceitfully branded the people’s uprisings in Egypt and Tunisia with “Islamic Revolution” and claimed that they started from mosques and people used religious slogans such as “Allahu Akbar” and described them as so called “Islamic awakening” that is caused by the clerical rule in Iran. Khamenei is trying to pretend that these uprisings are the reflection of the voice of ‘Islamic Revolution’ in Iran, she added.
The reality is that, these ploys would produce more hatred toward the mullahs regime, particularly in North Africa and the Middle East, where its medieval nature has been well revealed due to its export of terrorism and fundamentalism during the past three decades. Khamenei’s speech on Friday and other deceitful remarks by other officials in recent days have prompted abhorrence among the people and political groups in Egypt who have rejected and denounced any connection between their calls for freedom with the religious fascism in Iran.
