Maryam Rajavi: The people of Iran, the resistance units, and rebellious youth will continue to end the regime
Members of the Houses of Commons and Lords,
Ladies and gentlemen,
First, I would like to wish you a Happy New Year.
Thank you for supporting the uprising of the people of Iran by adopting of a decisive policy against the religious dictatorship ruling the country.
The Iran uprising will not be stopped.
The struggle of the people of Iran, the resistance units, and rebellious youth will continue to end the religious fascism.
Dear friends,
The regime in Iran has received serious blows in recent weeks, including the Iran uprising in November.
Khamenei ordered the IRGC to open fire, killing at least 1,500 protesters.
The elimination of Qassem Soleimani, the commander of the terrorist Quds Force, was another blow to the clerical regime and its strategy of export of war and terrorism to the Middle East.
At the same time, the courageous uprisings of the peoples of Iraq and Lebanon, demanding an end to the clerical regime’s meddling in their countries, have brought further pressure on the regime.
It is necessary more than any other time to evict the IRGC from the Middle East.
Dear friends,
The tragic downing of the passenger plane in Tehran by two IRGC missiles killed 176 innocent people, and caused outrage in Iran and around the world.
This is a horrific crime which the people of Iran will neither forgive nor forget.
Khamenei, Rouhani and commanders of the Revolutionary Guards must be brought to justice.
Following this tragic disaster, university students and people of Tehran and other cities took to the streets, calling for regime change.
They chanted, “death to Khamenei” and “death to the dictator.”
The regime went so far to arrest the UK Ambassador in breach of the Vienna Convention.
In another development, the regime has violated its commitments under the nuclear deal.
We emphasize the urgency of the application of the six UN Security Council resolutions and re-imposing comprehensive sanctions against the regime.
The mullahs ruling Iran, have never stopped their nuclear weapons project.
Distinguished representatives,
We are at a sensitive moment in the history of the people of Iran.
The Iranian Resistance seeks to establish a republic based on people’s free choice and vote, separation of religion and state, pluralism, gender equality, and abolition of the death penalty.
I urge you to be the voice of the people of Iran in both houses of the UK Parliament.
Urge your government to adopt a decisive policy on Iran, and recognize the right of the Iranian people to resistance.
Ask them to take urgent action to free those arrested, and take the lead in referring the dossier on the regime’s crimes to the Security Council to prosecute and punish the regime’s leaders.
In closing, I would like to repeat the memorable words of the enduring friend of the Iranian people and Resistance, the late Lord Corbett, who said, “One day, Iran will be free.”
Yes, that day is not far.
I thank you all.
