Maryam Rajavi: Do not negotiate with the regime that kills children and teenagers
A message to the Iranians’ rally outside the G7 summit
Greetings to each of you fellow compatriots and supporters of the Iranian Resistance,
You have raised the proud flag of Iran’s uprising outside the summit of the world’s seven industrialized nations!
You have come to convey the voice of the Iranian people, brave girls and boys, brave university students, and passionate high school students to the world.
Fifty days of uprising and sacrifice
From here, we salute the heroes and the brave people of Iran, whose uprising will mark its 50th day tomorrow.
Fifty days of battle, 50 days of sacrifice, and 50 days of perseverance against the demon of oppression and crime, with cries of “Pledging to our slain comrades, we will stand to the end.”
Glory to the memories of the heroic martyrs Hannaneh, Hadis, Sarina, Siavash, Mehrshad, and Kumar.
In these 50 days, your blood-drenched uprising has revealed several significant realities:
The uprising’s decisive policy and strategy have separated their course from opportunistic tendencies.
Your slogans point to the overthrow of the entire Velayat-e Faqih regime.
Your struggle in the streets and universities has undertaken the well-known traditions and methods of Resistance Units.
Vanguard students have revived universities as the bastions of freedom and shouldered the responsibility to perpetuate the uprising.
Courageous women and girls, especially the heroic mothers of the martyrs, have demonstrated the Iranian women’s unwavering resolve to uproot the mullahs’ misogynistic regime.
By their chants of “Death to the oppressor, be it the Shah or the (mullahs’ supreme) leader,” Iran’s courageous youth illustrate the democratic nature of this uprising and the future of the Iranian revolution devoid of any trace of religious tyranny or monarchical fascism.
Such is the blazing willpower of an arisen nation to change their destiny.
As Massoud (Rajavi, the Leader of the Iranian Resistance) has said, “A great revolution is in the making in Iran. The uprising will not stop. It will advance to destroy the enemy’s palace. It knows the cost and is willing to pay the price.”
The mullahs’ regime kills children
In these 50 days, Khamenei and his ruthless Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) mobilized all their power to crack down on the uprising. They did not hesitate to commit any crime. They killed at least 120 children of the oppressed Baluch people. They set fire to the Evin Prison. They arrested more than 25,000 protesters and killed at least 480, including 40 children between 2 and 17 years old, leaving behind thousands of wounded and injured.
The mullahs’ Judiciary officials also made threats and broadcast show trials of the arrested protesters on an hourly basis.
But the unfair trials, captivities, martyrdoms, and sufferings are among the most brilliant pages of honor in Iran’s contemporary history. At the same time, they reflect the regime’s complete helplessness in finding a solution to prevent its overthrow.
In one sentence, the definite and obvious outcome of the uprising is that the Velayat-e Faqih regime’s overthrow is inevitable. The suffering and sacrifice of the Iranian people have turned into a weapon firing at Khamenei and his oppressive rule and will eventually destroy the regime.
The Iranian people’s demand from the world governments
We say to the world governments, especially the seven most industrialized nations: Do not repeat the western governments’ mistake in assessing the conditions of Iran on the verge of the Shah’s overthrow.
Neither the brutal repression of people nor the build-up of an arsenal by plundering the impoverished population is a sign of the clerical regime’s power.
The real power that determines the Iranian equation is in the streets.
The Velayat-e Faqih regime is much weaker and more decadent than you think.
And the Iranian people’s uprising and resistance are far more powerful and deep-rooted than you imagine.
Do not let Khamenei’s gang cover up their weakness and misery in the face of the uprising by inciting war in the region and sending missiles and drones to kill and destroy Ukraine. Is this not a blatant violation of UN Security Council Resolution 2231? Why do you not use the trigger mechanism and activate the six UNSC resolutions against the regime according to this resolution?
Fortunately, some governments support excluding this misogynistic regime from the UN Commission on the Status of Women.
But a regime that does not represent the Iranian people in any way, and the general public want to overthrow it, has no legitimacy. It must be decisively expelled from the United Nations and all its institutions.
Western governments that want to sympathize with the blood-drenched people of Iran should not be satisfied with taking a stand and imposing some symbolic sanctions. They should immediately stop their negotiations with the regime.
It is a shame to shake hands and negotiate with a regime that kills 16 and 17-year-old boys and girls in the streets.
Together with our people, we have three basic demands from the international community:
1- Recognize the Iranian people’s right to self-defense and overthrow the regime, and acknowledge that the Iranian youths’ struggle against the IRGC is lawful, legitimate, and necessary.
2- Shut down the regime’s embassies in Western countries that provide support for the suppression and killing of the Iranian people and expel the mullahs’ mercenaries and intelligence agents.
3- Designate Khamenei’s IRGC as a terrorist entity and place it on the G7 and UN terror lists.
The Iranian people’s powerful uprising is forging ahead.
It is a revolution to establish freedom and democracy in Iran and a democratically elected republic based on the separation of religion and state, gender equality, and the autonomy of Iran’s oppressed nationalities.
And this revolution will achieve victory.
