Maryam Rajavi Holds Meeting with Finnish Delegation
On Thursday, January 18, Maryam Rajavi had a meeting with Ms. Anneli Jäätteenmäki, the former Prime Minister of Finland, along with her accompanying delegation, which included Mr. Atte Kaleva, a Member of Parliament and member of the Foreign Relations and Defense Committee, as well as the head of the Finnish delegation in the Asia-Europe Parliamentary Assembly, and Mr. Kimmo Sasi, a former minister and former member of the Parliament of Finland, was also part of the delegation.
During this meeting, Maryam Rajavi elaborated on the various crises within the clerical regime and the volatile state of Iranian society. She underscored that, to conceal these crises, the regime employs not only torture, execution, and killing but also resorts to foreign terrorism and warmongering, particularly in the Middle East.
Ms. Jäätteenmäki stated, “The aspect that is particularly intriguing to me in your resistance is the strength, hope, and motivation evident in you and members of this Resistance and your organization. Therefore, I am hopeful for your victory .”
While underscoring the regime’s role in undermining peace and tranquility in the region and the world, Mr. Atte Kaleva emphasized that none of the regime’s aggressive actions should be misconstrued as a display of strength. Both the regime and its proxies in the Middle East are experiencing significant pressure and concern. Mr. Atte Kaleva stated, “The regime relies on these policies extensively due to its internal crises.”
Mr. Kimmo Sasi addressed the regime’s intervention in the war against Ukraine, explicitly highlighting the deployment of drones to target the people of that country. He emphasized that the scope of the regime’s interventions has extended beyond the Middle East and reached Europe. Mr. Sasi underscored the significance of this issue for the people of Finland, stating that it is now evident to everyone how the Iranian regime plays a role in instigating war and insecurity in the region and the world.
