Maryam Rajavi Meets with Liam Fox, Former UK Defense and International Trade Secretary

On Thursday, December 12, 2024, Maryam Rajavi met with Liam Fox, the former UK Secretary of Defense and International Trade.
During the meeting, Maryam Rajavi highlighted the downfall of the Syrian dictator, stating, “The clerical regime has turned to war in the Middle East as a means to suppress uprisings within Iran and evade its inevitable overthrow. However, after 14 months, the regime finds itself increasingly mired in the quagmire of this war, and with the dictator’s fall, the balance has shifted in every respect to the regime’s detriment.”
She added, “The people of Iran seek the overthrow of the religious dictatorship and a free Iran, free from both the Shah’s and the mullahs’ dictatorships. This is a goal to which the Iranian Resistance is firmly committed, with a clear roadmap to achieve it.”
Sir Liam Fox stated that the Iranian regime’s policy has always relied on various proxies in different countries. However, it has suffered significant blows in this regard, from Hezbollah in Lebanon to the fall of Assad. These setbacks provide a unique opportunity for ending this brutal dictatorship. Regarding Khamenei’s remarks on the overthrow of the Assad Regime he said that Khamenei appeared as a desperate figure trying to project strength. Yet his desperation is evident to all, and it is clear that he has no way out.
Regarding the regime’s sham and in-absentia trials against the PMOI inside Iran, Sir Liam fox noted that such propaganda backfires, as it effectively reveals to the people who the regime’s main enemies are and who will bring freedom.
