In a rare atrocity, Khamenei’s executioners hanged 20 prisoners on Wednesday, February 26, on the eve of Ramadan.

The list of names and figures remains incomplete. Executions continue in various prisons across the country, while the regime refuses to disclose statistics and names.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), condemned the execution of 20 prisoners, particularly Kurdish compatriots, stating on Wednesday that the clerical regime is resorting to unprecedented savagery and brutality in a desperate attempt to save the failing Velayat-e Faqih system. However, she emphasized that these crimes will only intensify the anger and hatred of the rebellious youth towards the regime and will further strengthen their determination to overthrow the ruling mullahs.
Mrs. Rajavi reiterated that continuing political and economic relations with this regime must be conditioned on the cessation of executions, torture, and terrorism in Iran. She called on the UN High Commissioner, the Human Rights Council, and the UN Special Rapporteur to take immediate action to save the lives of the many prisoners on death row.
