Call for urgent action to save lives of political prisoners on hunger strike
Referring to 73 days of hunger strike by political prisoners Kasra Nouri and Saleh Moradi of Gonabadi dervishes imprisoned in Adel-Abad in Shiraz and 28 days of hunger strike by six Arab political prisoners in Ahwaz prison,
Rajavi said:These strikes and ruling mullahs’ wicked indifference towards them, reveals the tyranny, torture and suppression in regime’s prisons while at the same time it is a matter of disgrace for the pertinent international bodies that in face of call for justice by the oppressed political prisoners in Iran have had no reaction but silence and inaction.
Expressing concern over the dire condition of the dervishes from Gonabad who are in their ninth day of dry hunger strike, she stressed:
Khamenei and henchmen under his command, who administer Velayat-e faqih judiciary, are directly responsible for endangering the lives of the prisoners on strike in Shiraz and Ahwaz.
President-elect of the Resistance hailed the prisoners on strike and the courageous sit-in by their families in front of Adel-Abad prison in Shiraz and urged all compatriots to express solidarity with the prisoners and to protest against the ruling anti-human regime.
