Maryam Rajavi met with a delegation of women from the Belgian Parliament
On Tuesday, May 23, 2023, Maryam Rajavi held a meeting and discussions at her residence in Brussels with a delegation of women parliamentarians from Belgium. The delegation included Ms. Kathleen Depoorter, a member of the Federal Parliament of Belgium, as well as Latifa Aït Baala and Françoise Schepmans, representatives from the Brussels Parliament.
In this meeting, the developments in Iran were discussed, which included the struggles of Iranian women against the repressive and misogynistic dictatorship of the mullahs over the past four decades. The extensive presence, pioneering role, and leadership of women within the ranks of the Resistance movement were highlighted, along with the remarkable participation of Iranian women and girls at the forefront of recent uprisings, particularly the 2022-2023 Iran protests.
Maryam Rajavi, expressing her gratitude, acknowledged the support of Belgian lawmakers for the Iranian people and Resistance. She characterized this support as a valuable and sisterly endorsement of Iranian women’s ongoing fight for freedom and equality in the face of the oppressive rule of the misogynistic mullahs.
Ms. Depoorter, in response, praised the courage and selflessness demonstrated by Maryam Rajavi and the pioneering women of Iran throughout the past four decades, evoking widespread admiration.
Ms. Aït Baala emphasized that the Iranian women’s fight extends beyond the boundaries of Iran. Considering the regime’s malicious interventions and its imposition of Islamic fundamentalism in other nations, this struggle becomes a collective endeavor that concerns all of us.
Ms. Schepmans, expressing her condemnation of the regime’s brutal executions, highlighted that as a top record holder of executions, the regime has stirred global abhorrance.
