International call to condemn sexual harassment of, violence against women, girls by suppressive forces
Maryam Rajavi: This is a part of the tragedy that they carried in the prisons in the past 40 years against sympathizers of the PMOI/MEK and combatant women, but failed
Revolting and shocking scenes of sexually harassing women by the Special Unit of the State Security Force, and plainclothes agents once again exposes the filthy nature and mindset of the mullahs’ misogynist regime.
While the public rage over their abhorrent behavior has spread all over Iran, the state-run news agency Mehr, October 14, reported that the information center of the SSF command described the released video as “psychological and demonizing tactics to confuse the public and enflame people’s emotions.” It announced that a special instruction to deal with this matter has been issued by the SSF commanders.
Sexual harassment of women by the Revolutionary Guards or SSF officers is not an isolated case. It has been used as systematic torture to humiliate and degrade women since the onset of the mullahs’ rule and implemented on the orders of the regime’s leaders. The recently published clip shows that a protesting young woman is assaulted in the presence of a group of Special Unit forces.
The Women’s Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran calls on the United Nations, the Council on Human Rights, the High Commissioner for Human Rights and all women’s rights organizations to condemn the violation of women’s dignity by the ruling religious fascism and demands the adoption of immediate and effective measures to stop the suppression of women in Iran.
Mrs. Maryam Rajavi called on the dignified men and brave women of Iran to defend their sisters in such bitter and painful instances. This is a part of the tragedy that they carried in the prisons in the past 40 years against sympathizers of the PMOI/MEK and combatant women, but failed, she said, adding this is the well-known tactic by the mullahs, IRGC and intelligence agents to break women’s resolve but they are not going to succeed.
