Iran: Rajavi’s call to international community
Maryam Rajavi described death verdicts of dozens of Sunni political prisoners as anti-human and anti-Islamic. She said: “This medieval regime is unable to continue its reign for a single day without execution, torture and murder.”
Rajavi called on the UN Security Council, the Human Rights Council, the High Commissioner for Human Rights, and the Secretary-General, as well as the European Union and the United States government to take urgent action to save lives of these prisoners and free them.
She called on religious leaders, Sunni or Shiite, in Iran and other Islamic countries to rise and oppose the escalating trend of executions in Iran that is blatant transgression of Islamic teachings and its different branches and not to allow the ominous dictatorship ruling Iran to continue with its corruption and atrocities under cover of religion.
Mrs. Rajavi called on all Iranian people, especially the youth, in various parts of the country to oppose execution of these prisoners and to support prisoner’s families who have staged protests.
