Presidency of UN Conference on Disarmament by the mullahs’ regime is against peace in the region and must be canceled
Mrs. Maryam Rajavi: A regime that is the main enemy of peace, has imposed over $2 trillion in costs on the people for the atomic bomb, and violates many international treaties must be expelled from the United Nations. It should not sit on the presidency of the Disarmament Conference.
The Iranian Resistance strongly condemns the presidency of the terrorist and warmongering dictatorship of the mullahs over the United Nations Disarmament Conference and considers it against peace and tranquility in the region and the world. Although the regime’s presidency over this conference is a routine matter based on the alphabet and lasts for four weeks (March 18 to 29 and May 13 to 24), it is absolutely unacceptable and must be canceled.
Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), stated that a regime that is the main enemy of peace, has caused millions of deaths and injuries throughout the region through its warmongering, has imposed over $2 trillion in costs on the people of Iran to acquire the atomic bomb, and violates many international treaties, including the NPT and UN Security Council Resolution 2231, in the most severe way. Such a regime does not represent the people of Iran in any way and must be expelled from the United Nations. The resolutions of the Security Council regarding its nuclear projects must be reactivated, and it should not sit on the presidency of the Disarmament Conference.
The Disarmament Conference deals with issues such as global peace, limiting weapons of mass destruction, and reducing military budgets, which the policies and actions of the Iranian regime violate in the most severe way.
While the presidency of the Disarmament Conference is being handed over to the religious fascism ruling Iran, its drones are killing the people of Ukraine, it has expanded the scope of its warmongering and maritime piracy to the Red Sea in violation of UN Security Council Resolution 2216, and according to the existing government documents, only in 9 years (until April 2021), at the expense of the increasingly impoverished people of Iran, it has spent $50 billion to kill the people of Syria in order to keep the dictator of that country, costs that have continued in the three years since then.
