Maryam Rajavi calls for referral of Iran’s human rights dossier to UN Security Council

At least 31 executed in Iran in 5 days
The Iranian regime authorities executed nine more inmates on Thursday, August 7, in city of Kermanshah, according to the information recieved. Seven prisoners were sent to the gallows in the city’s main prison and two others were cruelly hanged in public.

The two men stood on top of a bus as guards fixed ropes round their necks that were attached to a bridge overhead. They were hanged as the bus drove away in the city’s Azadi Square.

During the past five days alone, coinciding with the first anniversary of Hassan Rouhani coming into office, at least 31 inmates have been executed. Ten executions were carried out in public in the cities of Shiraz, Karaj and Kermanshah.

The figures do not include those executions that are being carried out in secret.

Stressing that the Iranian regime is on the verge of creating a climate of fear with arbitrary and mass executions to prevent any public uprisings, Iranian Resistance President-elect Maryam Rajavi said such measures annuls any illusion about moderation in the religious dictatorship ruling Iran, and shows that Hassan Rouhani is nothing but a part of the rule of Velayat-e faqih and has no mission but to maintain the system.

Maryam Rajavi called on the international community to refer Iran’s human rights violations dossier to the United Nations Security Council, adding that this regime has continued its disgraceful rule over the past 36 years by relying on massacres, sending people to the gallows, and torturing in prisons and squares and streets across the country.
