Maryam Rajavi’s meetings with members of the European Parliament and the Parliament of Belgium
Mrs. Rajavi also met with Ms. Anthea McIntyre, MEP and Vice Chairman of the UK Conservative Party; Ms. Ramona Mănescu, MEP from Romania and vice chair of the Eastern European countries committee from the European People’s Party (EPP); Ms. Daniela Aiuto, MEP from Italy; Ms. Marijana Petir, MEP from Croatia; and Mr. José Bové, a leader of the peasants’ movement and MEP from France.
They discussed the grave violations of human rights and the escalating number of executions in Iran, the status of the Iranian Resistance, and the continuing protests by the Iranian people who are disgruntled by the clerical regime’s corruption and embezzlements. They also talked about the Iranian regime’s criminal meddling in Syria and other countries in the region.
Members of the European Parliament and the Parliament of Belgium emphasized on the need to follow up on the Iranian people and Resistance’s calls for justice and their demand to condition all EU relations with Tehran on the issue of human rights, end to executions and to their meddling in the region.
They added: Our efforts to this end not only emanates from the importance of the principles of human rights and democracy for the people of Europe, but also from the fact that this is a requisite for the establishment of peace and tranquility in the Middle East and for the international fight against terrorism and fundamentalism.
Maryam Rajavi appreciated in these meetings the European people’s representatives’ support for the Iranian people and Resistance and PMOI freedom fighters.
