New Year celebrations2013-Auver sur oise
Mayors and members of city councils,
Dear friends of Iranian resistance,
We have gathered here as a good tradition, like every year, to start the New Year with our closest friends of the Iranian Resistance to wish for a happy year ahead.
This is also an opportunity for us to express our gratitude for your loyal and lasting friendship in a hard struggle.
But I believe that we are not here just to exchange greetings an good wishes, rather, to inspire hopes that are based on realities which have already started to materialize.
The past year was fruitful and full of achievements for the Iranian people and Resistance and friends in their struggle for freedom.
We saw how the mullahs’ regime became more and more isolated internationally; the mullahs are sinking into regional confrontations specially Syria, and their role is being exposed to struggling people in the midst of Arab spring.
We witnessed how the Security Council of the United Nations condemned Tehran’s regime for clear violations of Human Rights with words harsher than ever. There are no doubts for the world that this religious dictatorship is in a blatant fight with its own people.
Regarding the Resistance, its efforts against delisting from the black list succeeded. PMOI was finally delisted from all terror lists in the world after a long legal and political fight.
Victory in this fight, in which most of you took part, shows that you have chosen the correct front, the front for justice and truth. And you are proud of it. But your choice to support Iranian people and their Resistance is a source of pride for us as well. We are proud to have friends like you.
Although we lost several of our sisters and brothers last year due to inhumane limitations imposed by Iraqi government on Mojahedin in Ashraf and Liberty, but each and every one of the ultimatums set by the Iraqi government against Ashraf residents was neutralized and their conspiracies were foiled. This dictatorial government is cursed by Iraqi people and like other risen nations in the region, Iraqi people seek overthrow of Maliki’s government.
During 2012, we also witnessed growth of regional nations’ movements in North Africa and the Middle East. In search of freedom and democracy, these nations rescued themselves from old dictatorships. Without a doubt they have many challenges ahead: their struggle hijacked by fundamentalists, or deviation towards another form of dictatorship. But have no doubt that no power is able to stop awareness of the peoples, especially the youth in these nations.
In 2012 we specially witnessed crumbling of Assad’s dictatorship by Syrian resistance. A dictatorship supported by Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) which implemented one of the most brutal suppressions. But the end of this regime is in sight.
Therefore we start 2013 with many hopes that are accessible. To this end, we only need to work hand-in-hand and realize the historic moment for Iranian people, people of the region and the whole world. The time to hit the final blow to the monster of fundamentalism which has imposed itself on Iran is here.
If we were fighting for delisting PMOI last year, in 2013 we will fight for recognition of the Iranian Resistance as the legitimate alternative to this regime on the verge of its collapse.
If we were fighting for safeguarding the brave members of the Resistance in Ashraf and Liberty from massacre and gruesome traps in 2012, in 2013 we will fight for the recognition of the rights including right to freedom, right to property, freedom of movement and right to resist.
If last year the international community implemented sanctions against clerical regime, this year, they should stand on the side of Iranian people and help them free themselves from this fundamentalist dictatorship.
We need your friendship and struggle to take a leap forward while Iranian people and the world have been waiting for this opportunity so many years.
Yes, dear friends, a democratic and pluralist Iran based on separation of the Church and the State and equality of men and women, freedom of expression, gatherings, an Iran where death penalty is abolished, a nuclear free Iran. It happens if we want it and we concentrate our efforts on this goal. That day is close.
On the day this goal is achieved, and only then, Iranian people will be able to express their deep appreciation of your efforts by sharing their happiness and prosperity with you.
We wish you and all your friends and family a happy new year.
Once again we thank you for what you are as well as all your efforts.
