Maryam Rajavi Meets with Natalia Gavrilița, the former Prime Minister of Moldova (2021 – April 2023), one of the world’s four female leaders in 2023
During her trip to Brussels to participate in the Iran Uprising Summit, Maryam Rajavi held a separate meeting with Ms. Natalia Gavrilița, the former Prime Minister of Moldova, who was a speaker at the summit. Ms. Gavrilița served as the Prime Minister of Moldova from 2021 until April 2023, and in the same year, she was honored as one of the world’s four female leaders, receiving a special award for her achievements.
During the meeting, Ms. Gavrilița expressed her strong belief in the leadership of women and their significant role in politics. She noted, “In Iran, years of suppression have cultivated a remarkable potential among women, who have played a vital role in the ongoing struggle against the regime. The struggle has been organized in your movement and has a long history.
“I closely followed the developments of the Iranian uprising last year, and I am aware that the people of Iran are living under the rule of a religious totalitarian regime that brutally suppresses its citizens. Unfortunately, the policy of appeasement has exacted a heavy toll on the people of Iran, the region, and the world. European countries must adopt a resolute policy in dealing with the Iranian regime.
“The presence of Iranian youth at your conference today was highly impressive and indicates their strong support for your movement.”
Expressing her gratitude to Ms. Gavrilița and her interest in the Iran uprising, Maryam Rajavi said, “We are a resistance movement that has fought against two dictatorships. Many of our members have been prisoners under both the Shah and the current regimes. Our resistance stands in stark contrast to the ruling mullahs, who regard women as second-class citizens and deprive them of numerous rights. Our resistance is founded on principles of equality, freedom, and human values. For over thirty years, women have held leadership positions within the Mojahedin Organization (PMOI/MEK).”
