Meeting with the Hon. Andrea Di Giuseppe, a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Parliament of Italy
During my meeting with Mr. Andrea Di Giuseppe, a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Italian Parliament, he acknowledged the significance of the Iranian people’s uprising and the courage of Iranian women during the protests.
Regarding the hysteric reactions exhibited by the clerical regime, including the summoning of the Italian Ambassador by the Foreign Ministry, Mr. Di Giuseppe expressed his view, stating, “These reactions are a clear reflection of the regime’s weakness and their fear of your Resistance. Be assured that you have steadfast allies in Italy. We will continue this struggle alongside you.”
I expressed my gratitude to Mr. Di Giuseppe and his esteemed colleagues in the Italian Parliament for their unwavering support in upholding human rights and promoting democracy in Iran. During our discussion, I emphasized the need to intensify pressure and impose additional sanctions on the clerical regime.
I reiterated that despite the Iranian regime’s relentless attempts to suppress the voices of the Iranian people through violence, including the killing of protesters, widespread arrests, and escalating executions, the resilient people of Iran will persist in their resistance and uprising.
Their ultimate goal is to overthrow the current regime and establish a democratic system that upholds the principles of people’s sovereignty and freedom in Iran.
