Meeting with Ms. Izabela Konopacka, Member of the Board of Directors and President of the Million-Strong European Bars Federation until June 2024

On Friday, June 21, 2024, Maryam Rajavi met with Ms. Izabela Konopacka, a member of the Board of Directors and the President of the European Bars Federation (2023-2024). The FBE represents one million lawyers. Ms. Konopacka also serves as the Vice President of the Bar Association of Wrocław in Poland.
Ms. Konopacka expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to meet Mrs. Rajavi and stated that as a member of the board, she represents the Federation of European Bar Associations, which includes 220 associations and one million lawyers. Their primary goal is to protect human rights in Europe and worldwide. Ms. Konopacka emphasized that the issue of  human rights violations in Iran has always been a central concern for the Federation. She mentioned that at the last Federation meeting, many members expressed readiness to take action to protect the human rights of the Iranian people.
Ms. Konopacka also mentioned her support for women’s rights and commended Mrs. Rajavi’s efforts and the role of women in their resistance. She emphasized that the leadership of women in the Iranian Resistance sends a powerful message to Iranian women facing oppression from the ruling misogynistic regime. Ms. Konopacka further praised Mrs. Rajavi’s Ten-Point Plan as a very important and fundamental plan that guarantees a democratic Iran.
Mrs. Rajavi expressed her appreciation for the support of the Federation of European Bar Associations and its former presidents, Ms. Dominique Attias and Ms. Sara Chandler. She noted, “They supported our Resistance movement in very difficult circumstances, something that the people of Iran will never forget.”
Highlighting the clerical regime’s escalating crises, Mrs. Rajavi emphasized the strong will and determination of the Iranian people and the Iranian Resistance to overthrow the regime. She underscored that, in contrast to the regime’s misogyny, “Our Resistance is founded on the principles of humanity and equality. This is not merely rhetoric but our guiding principle in action.” Mrs. Rajavi emphasized that this approach has nurtured a generation of emancipated women and men within the Iranian Resistance who reject the ideology of gender discrimination and fight with all their might for the liberation, equality, and freedom of their nation and homeland from all forms of dictatorship.
