Maryam Rajavi meets with Mr. Gilbert Mitterrand and Mr. Jean-François Legaret
Maryam Rajavi met with Mr. Jean-François Legaret, the president of the Middle East Studies Foundation and former mayor of the 1st arrondissement of Paris, and Mr. Gilbert Mitterrand, the president of the French Liberty Foundation (France Liberté), at the headquarters of the National Council of Resistance of Iran in Paris.
Mrs. Rajavi, referring to the recent wave of executions in Iran and the regime’s dirty policy of hostage-taking, said, “The escalation of repression and terrorism by the mullahs not only reflects their inhumane nature but also demonstrates their desperation in the face of the Iranian people’s Resistance and uprising.”
In this meeting, Mr. Legaret stated that despite the policy of repression and executions, the courage of the youth and Resistance Units is highly commendable. He described the false alternatives as signs of the regime’s fear of the Iranian Resistance and democratic alternative. He noted that such games enjoy no credibility among the public.
Mr. Gilbert Mitterrand also said, “Unfortunately, the people of Iran have faced barbarism from both the Shah and the mullahs in the past hundred years. It is time for them to achieve the democracy that is their right and is embodied in your Ten-Point Plan.”
