Welcoming Patrick Kennedy in Auvers-sur-Oise
During the visit of Mr. Patrick Kennedy from Auvers-sur-Oise, Mrs. Rajavi addressed a brief speech hommaging him in front of sympathisers of the Iraninan resistace:
Dear Congressman Patrick Kennedy,
I am honored to welcome you, I welcome you on behalf of all members of the Iranian resistance and in particular the residents of Ashraf and Liberty.
They send their greetings to you they feel that you are standing close to them and they ar
e proud of having a friend like you.As you know, the Iranian resistance is under the most brutal suppression of the mullahs.
Ashraf and Liberty residents are not only facing inhumane pressures, loss of their lives under the attacks
by the Iraqi government or trampling of their freedoms.
But, they are also facing a disinformation and demonization campaign.
Listing MEK in the United States is an open injustice against the MEK.
Violating the commitments of the US for protection of Ashraf was another injustice.
And finally, pressures by the US administration to evacuate Ashraf without ensuring the minimum requirements
is another injustice.
But these do not represent the United States for the Iranian people.
The truth is, under all these pressures, the friendship of men like Patrick with such principles and affection encourages our Resistance and gives us strength.
You have proven that one can combine politics with ethics and morality.
We believe in tomorrow.
We believe in freedom and the victory of freedom.
Future will show that we have been on the right path and we will prevail.
Thank you for your presence today.
While thanking Mrs. Rajavi, Mr. Patrick Kennedy said:
Once again thankyou Mrs. Rajavi, and thank all of you who are committed to the struggle to bring about a free Iran.
I called my wife and my two children last night after the iftar and I told them that one day we will be able to join you Madam Rajavi and all of those who have struggled so long to be together for another iftar in a free Iran.
Your committement to your martyrs is a recognition that they live on in all of your hearths and they live on in the cause of freedom and that is what is most ethernal because when history records the struggle of the people of Iran for freedom and it records a big book of the hundred of thousand of martyrs and people who have been tortured in the jails and they record the people who have died in camp Ashraf and Liberty and around the world because of these mullahs they reord the fact that they could not silence them because there was always those who are willing to stand up for their memory and for the cause of freedom. I know I am just a member of another family that knows the struggle and has also lost loved ones to the cause of freedom and so I can say to you that I would not be here today just like you would not be here today if it were not for our historic struggles and those struggles are universal struggles and that is why what you are doing is something that no one can take away from you and no matter what they say about you and no matter what they write about you, you know in your hearths that you are doing the just thing ..and you can continue to count on me to raise the subjet of your struggle to those who care about the struggle for freedom.
I believe that we will prevail, because I believe that when the light of the day is shown on the reality they can say whatever they want about the MEK they can say whatever they want about Ashraf and Liberty, but the truth will speak for itself
And I believe that, that story will someday get out. And when it does, people are going to ask, who’s side were the Americans on? Who’s side was the United Nations on? Who’s side were the people of the world on? And I will be proud to say as a citizen of the world that I stood with the MEK and I stood with the people of Ashraf and Liberty.
Thank you very very much
